The Christian Senior Citizens Homes Society of Northern Alberta has an agreement in place to purchase a 3.7 acre site in the Inglewood neighbourhood with the intent to build and operate a Christian seniors’ home, similar to Emmanuel Home. Recognizing the growing needs and demands of its supporting community, the Society will spend the next few months establishing conceptual plans and engaging in community consultations. The goal of these consultations will be to determine:

1. The feasibility of the project (i.e. How many suites?)
2. Develop comprehensive programs and services to meet the community vision
3. Provide opportunities for involvement to support the project
4. Create a timeline for the site development

While we are thankful for this important step in bringing a Christian seniors’ home to another part of Edmonton, as well as for the resources that are making this land purchase possible, there is still a lot of work to do! If enough support for and interest in the project can be established by the middle of April 2020, the Board of the Society will remove the conditions on the current agreement and purchase the land.

Stay tuned for information on a town hall meeting sometime in February! In the meantime, feel free to contact Darren Sinke, Executive Director, at dsinke@emmanuelhome.ca or phone 780-478-2051 if you would like to talk more about the project. Also, remember to renew your Society Membership for 2020 to ensure that you are up to date on any progress and developments!
