April 14 Update

Good afternoon, everyone,

I’d like to take a few minutes to update you on our status at Emmanuel Home.

First and foremost, we have remained clear of COVID-19 since the outbreak lifted a little over a month ago. We are very thankful for that!

However, our guard is up and our overall concern level is rising as we see COVID-19 rates in the general community going up. We know that many of our residents’ families have COVID-19 in their household or surrounding community.

There’s no blame to pass around. It’s just our reality!

But, when we do a ‘Risk Assessment’ and evaluate where things sit, I don’t want us to pretend that everything is ok and there is no real risk.

I want to highlight some important notes:

1. We’re all in this together! The communal responsibility to be mindful of COVID-19 and its effects is paramount to keeping our residents safe.
2. All visitors must complete the screening process and go directly to the resident’s suite. You may not wander throughout the building and/or visit with residents other than the one(s) you are here to see.

  • a. We will be de-activating some family member’s fobs for the time being, as we have noticed people not using the Main Entrance as their only access in and out of the building.

3. Masks must be worn indoors at all times, and outdoors when physical distancing cannot be maintained. (Note: We’d prefer you to just wear your mask at all times, anyways!)

We will continue to monitor things closely, and if we need to make changes to stay within Public Health guidelines and mitigate risks, we will communicate those to you directly.

Thank you for your continued support through this pandemic. As always, please reach out if you have any questions at all!

In His grip,
