February 3 Update

Good morning, everyone,

I’m happy to let you know that as of this morning, our one resident who tested positive for COVID-19 has now recovered! We’re thankful that the resident has made this progress, and also that we have not had any more positive cases in the last 14 days.

If things continue with no positive cases, we can lift the ‘outbreak’ status on February 17th. The plan is to continue with the weekly swabbing for the next two weeks, just to remain cautious. Thank you all for your diligence in helping us reach that goal!

In terms of the vaccine rollout, our DSL residents are receiving their 2nd dose today. With the roller coaster of changes around the rollout over the past month, we didn’t want to announce it until we saw the AHS staff on site this morning. Our staff who received the first dose in January are being scheduled for the second dose at some point this month, so that is also encouraging.

However, we still have no updates on when our Independent & Home Care residents will have access to the vaccine. There have been no communications with firm details yet, so we continue to wait. We will certainly update you as we learn of it!

As always, we are here to help and do what we can. Please reach out if there is anything you need.

In His grip,

Darren Sinke
